The 1 December edition of the on-line The Good Food Guide Weekly features its Platinum List which the guide puts forward as the roll of the very best newly opened restaurants which appeared on the dining scene during 2021. There are 18 restaurants from the whole of Great Britain of which 3 are located in London and 12 in the rest of England. Although no restaurants in the the West Midlands outside of Birmingham get a mention, two in Birmingham itself (just one less than the whole of London) find themselves on the Platinum List - 670 Grams (see Blogs 169 and 187) and Land (see Blog 180) which are interestingly two of the smaller high quality restaurants in the city. This City of Gastronomy does not stand still as young chefs recognise this is the place to work their magic.
